Clouds. Lots of clouds.
Last Wednesday night, Ringwood saw more clouds than Moon.
I took a few shots as the moon rose, then spent a few hours sitting in a chair & watching clouds.
The intense cloud cover was mildly disappointing, since I haven’t tried to shoot a Blood Moon since June 2011.
Despite not getting the full eclipse, it was good to practice some night sky shooting again.
Moments later, the clouds engulfed the Moon & it hasn’t been seen since.
That shoot in 2011 wasn’t long after getting my first digital camera, an Olympus E-620.
It was my first attempt at literally shooting the Moon, with the full eclipse occurring at around 6am.
On a Thursday.
Inconvenient.
Just 90 minutes before sunrise, so being awake was a challenge.
By living in the valley of a hill in the Dandenong Ranges, I had the additional challenge of dodging trees.
It didn’t work out too well, but I learned a little & came away with almost one photo, shot through an oak branch unfortunately.

Sounds like your evening was like mine, over near Rosanna, we sat around too waiting for breaks in the clouds. We were on top of a hill, so the trees weren’t a problem.
