In mid-November my girlfriend bought a guinea pig. Then another, then another.
NINE PHOTOS TELL THE STORY.
These shots were among the last I took with my recently retired Olympus E-620 using an Olympus 14-54mm f2.8-3.5 & an Olympus ED 50-200mm f2.8-3.5 lenses.
Nibbler (the pink-eared B&W fella), Taun Taun (the excessively hairy grey chap) & Blarp (the super-talkative black & brown bloke) were an important point of focus for Justine during a difficult time & I’m grateful for that.
They’re interesting little guys with many varied calls that I’ve grown to enjoy over the last few weeks.
Getting photos of them is an interesting challenge, as light levels within our living room are usually pretty bad & I’ve yet to acquire any sexy photographic lights or an adequate flash system.
Looking back, I wish that we had taken more shots of their living areas along the way, as Justine created a multitude of awesomely intricate cardboard dwellings for them.
Each time tweaking the design for increased sturdiness & comfort.
Our fluffy little dog, Nanook, is still intrigued & gets very excited by them.
When they’re out of their cages, she tries to lick them all over. Constantly.
Nanook has built a rapport with our first arrival, Nibbler. They will calmly say hello to each other every morning.
It’s so cute & sweet that I can’t show a photo of it here, for fear of putting everyone in a diabetic coma.
If you have guinea pigs & other pets, how do they all get along?
